Town Hall Meeting

Alzheimer’s disease is the only cause of death among the top 10 in America without a way to prevent it or cure it.  In 2012, 15.4 million family members and friends provided care to those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias.  In 2013, the direct costs of caring for those with Alzheimer’s to American society will total an estimated $203 billion, including $142 billion in costs to Medicare and Medicaid.  What can we do about it?  A town hall meeting is scheduled so that you can share your ideas and concerns with your government representatives.  Hear about the latest Alzheimer’s issues and the urgency to take action.  Share tips on helping our public officials understand the reality of Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.

The meeting will be held at the Madison County Cooperative Extension Office located at 230 Duncannon Lane, Richmond on Thursday, June 13th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.  Registration is preferred; please contact 1-800-272-3900 or send an e-mail to infoky-in@alz.org.
